Ingredients
170gflour
100gbutter
70gsugar
1egg
1 tspvanilla sugar or a few drops of vanilla extract
2tspgrated lemon zest
1 tsplemon juice
1/4tspsalt
Instructions
Cream together soft butter and sugar, then add eggs, grated lemon zest, and lemon juice. Finally, mix in the flour.
Knead the dough for a few minutes. Form a ball and wrap it cling film, and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. Note: If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour.
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
Roll out the dough to a thickness of 5mm. Use heart-shaped cutouts for the dough and press them onto rolled dough to create heart-shaped pieces.
Cover the baking tray with foil; no need to grease with oil or butter.
Bake the biscuits for 8-10 minutes or until they achieve a nice golden colour. Be careful not to let them get too dark as it will affect the taste.
Once done and cooled, you can decorate them.
